Warrant Articles

The Planning Board has two Articles on the Warrant. The first is to create a new Downtown Commercial District. The second Article is housekeeping.

1. The first article has three parts.

First is to remove the Downtown Commercial District from the Commercial District. Proposed changes are in red.  Read that HERE.

Second is to create the new Downtown Commercial District. Read that HERE.

Third is to amend the Sign Ordinance to reflect these changes. Proposed changes are in red. Read that Here.

2. The second article is to introduce Special Exceptions to the Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance with the same language used throughout the rest of the Ordinance. Proposed changes are in red. Read that HERE.

Planning Board Schedules and Deadlines

The Planning Board has both regulatory and non-regulatory functions. The biggest non-regulatory functions are the preparation and review of the Master Plan and building the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The Planning Board also regulates subdivisions, storm water, excavations, and driveways as well as site plan review for issues of safety and traffic.

Board members must be residents of Wilton and are elected at annual town elections. The seven member Board has elected, staggered three-year terms.  Alternates and the Select Board representative are appointed for single year terms.
