Please Stop and Think:
Please slow down – children frequent this area, as do constantly moving vehicles and equipment.
We are doing all we can to provide service to you while keeping you and ourselves as safe as possible.
Remember to respect the barriers for our safe areas.
Keep in mind to recycle. We would rather not have to check bags before they are deposited into the trash window.
Due to possible cross contamination, NO fibers (newspaper/cardboard) or other materials and items should be exchanged between persons.
Keep social distances as much as possible and please do not socialize, as we are trying to facilitate keeping everyone moving along to avoid congested areas.

We have several ongoing requests:
Please sort your plastics properly, and at home. Remember #1’s are clear or see-thru and bottles only.
#2’s are solid color jugs, containers and bottles. Milk jugs and other translucent containers are separate and deposited through the window by the trash window.
All trash must be in closed bags, and please push your trash bags off the table. When you do so, beware of the moving skid steer at that window and use caution. There is no door on the front of that machine which is what is facing you. All household trash, including food waste, needs to be placed through the trash window, not the landfill containers. It seems that people think we are still incinerating waste. The incinerator was dismantled in 2009 at which time all the waste began being transferred off the premises.
Please only glass bottles or jars in the glass bins. All other glass goes into the landfill containers by the scale house.
Aluminum cans need to be only aluminum beverage cans. All other types of aluminum cans go into the steel can bin.
Fees apply to most items deposited into the landfill containers, except kitty litter. Please see attendant. If possible we prefer you pay by check at this time. Don’t forget to have your phone number and correct address on the check.
Per Solid Waste regulations brush must be 5” or less in diameter.

We are doing all we can to provide service to you under these circumstances while keeping ourselves and you as safe as possible. We appreciate your consideration and cooperation in these challenging times. We are always open to suggestions. Have questions?? Just ask. We are happy to assist you.

 About the facility

The Wilton Recycling Center and Transfer Station requires a sticker to gain access to the facility. Stickers are free of charge and may be picked up at the Recycling Center. You will need your vehicle registration or proof of residency in a member town to receive your sticker. Up to two stickers per household will be permitted.

The Wilton Recycling Center is located on Rt 101, 1 mile west of the railroad tracks at the Irving Station, on the right hand side.

The Center is open to residents of the towns of Greenville, Lyndeborough, Mason, Temple and Wilton. Residents are responsible for bringing their own items to the center.

Check the links to the right of this page for greater details.

We now accept all types of household batteries for recycling!  Please deposit in appropriate container.

rechargeable batteries

Even better, we can recycle them for free. Battery recycling has been a loss for the recycle center, costing us for storage, shipment, and recycling.  Shipment will be paid for by the recycler, We're excited about this program and look forward to expanding it.
