Health Officer

The Town of Wilton, New Hampshire is seeking a part-time Health and Licensing Officer. This position oversees the inspection of rental housing, restaurants and food service providers as well as the licensing of daycares, educational facilities and certain special events in the community. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational skills, have a solid understanding of pertinent technologies, and be a diplomat who will work to earn the respect of the local business community even when enforcement is required.

Conducts inspections of restaurants and food service providers to enforce compliance with applicable federal, state, and municipal health laws, ordinances, codes and regulations. Develops and implements health, housing, and licensing programs; prepares reports and determines actions to be taken regarding violations; reviews communications, determines applicability of statutes, codes, rules, regulations, and ordinances; authorizes the issuance of citations or directives. Participates in legal actions in response to violations; schedules and conducts hearings; testifies before legislative committees and in court; reviews drafts of legal cases. Represents the Town on matters concerning environmental health, public health, and other health, housing, and licensing issues Reviews all plans and blueprints for new construction, remodeling, or changes to food service establishments. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of all state, town and federal laws, rules, and regulations and RSAs governing or relating to programs and activities, housing, salvage operations, environmental sanitation, inspection procedures, plumbing, electrical, zoning, and life safety codes. Principles and practices of EPA guidelines for noise measurement, asbestos-containing materials, hazardous material, and the US Food and Drug Administration's Code of Federal Regulations pertaining to food.

Paramedics and AEMTs

Our ambulance service is looking for knowledgeable, professional Paramedics and AEMTs who are able to provide emergency care for patients who are being moved from an active injury scene to a hospital, or being transferred from one hospital to another. The ideal candidates will possess excellent patient service skills, be able to work well under pressure, and make quick decisions about patient health. The successful applicant must be familiar with all on-board equipment and ready to jump into their new role from day one. Minimum requirements:

Work closely with the dispatcher to determine the best way to respond to calls based on the company’s priority system
 - Respond to emergency calls, assess patient condition and make critical care decisions quickly
 - Handle non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary
 - Collect pertinent patient care data and transfer that data to a medical professional based on state guidelines
 - Complete paperwork in legible handwriting for all patient calls
- Maintain a running inventory of medical supplies on the response vehicle
 - High school diploma/GED required
 - Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  - Current CPR and First Aid certifications
ACLS course completion required
 - Ability to remain calm and deliver quality care in high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
